The Long Point Bird Observatory and visiting birdwatchers are estimated to contribute about $1.5 million annually to the local economy. The LPBR participates in the eco-tourism project sponsored by CBRA to help develop tourism that would be informed by, and consistent with, a biosphere reserve.
