Annual Research and Conservation Conference
The Long Point Biosphere Region has hosted the Long Point Research and Conservation Conference since 2012, bringing together academics, NGOs, government agencies, and other stakeholders to share local studies, monitoring results, restoration initiatives, and applied research on land use and stewardship in the region. Core themes include climate adaptation, species at risk recovery, and agricultural-ecological innovation, with applied topics ranging from tallgrass prairie butterflies and Grey Ratsnakes to wetland bird monitoring and sustainable approaches to issues such as phosphorus runoff and pollinator decline.
The conference aims to foster actionable science, youth and capacity building, and intercultural knowledge exchange.
The Conference is held each year during the first week of November. Sign up to our newsletter to get the latest news and registration details.
