The Long Point Biosphere Region, a UNESCO designated World Biosphere, promotes partnerships, projects, and community engagement that support biodiversity, conservation and sustainable community goals within Norfolk County.
We are seeking to appoint a Board Member who is a subject matter expert in FundRaising and Development. Specifically, the Biosphere Board is seeking an individual with experience in approaching foundations and other potential high value donours with a goal of securing consistent funding to support our core operations. Moreover, this individual would work carefully with our programming team leads in securing grants and matching funds required by some funding arrangements.

ABOUT THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Our Board consists of up to 15 Directors. Our current officers include President, Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. We are looking for people willing to commit to a 3-year minimum term. Key expectations of the Long Point Biosphere Board include:
- Know our bylaws
- Set strategic priorities
- Chair one committee; participate on one committee
- Oversee projects or programs
- Understand and oversee financials
- Collaborate with each other and the community
