help us launch our tiny headstart program

Only 1 in 200 turtle hatchlings will survive to adulthood and just 2% will make it to their 5th birthday. But with your support, we can give hatchlings a tiny head start by providing them with a safe home and year of care before releasing them to the wild.

In Norfolk County, roads and habitat loss are the leading threats to turtle survival. For every adult turtle killed on the road, as many as 200 hatchlings are needed to make up for the loss. That’s why your support is critical.

That’s why we’re launching a Tiny Headstart Program–to give at-risk and threatened turtles the best chance to survive.

Our Tiny Headstart Program will provide care for turtle hatchlings through their first year of life to give them a better chance at survival in the wild. Your support will help us train volunteers to monitor roadways, help wildlife across roads, protect nests, and collect high-risk eggs to incubate at our turtle hatchery until release.

Give a hatchling a tiny head start. One year of care can mean a lifetime in the wild. Donate today.
