Long Point Biosphere to launch New Strategy thanks to Ontario Government Grant
On Friday June 21, 2024, Bobbi Ann Brady, Member of the Provincial Parliament (Haldimand-Norfolk) will be at the Birds Canada National Headquarters facilities in Port Rowan, Ontario to celebrate the awarding of an Ontario government grant funded through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) to the Long Point Biosphere Region (LPBR). MPP Brady will attend to acknowledge the government grant and its impact on the community.
The grant will assist the development of the Biosphere’s new strategic plan and strengthen the organization’s capacity to support sustainable development, conservation programs, and outreach and outdoor education collaborations. These include a new alliance with the Georgian Bay Mnidoo Gamii Biosphere on the development of a new operating model for the Long Point Biosphere.
Mr. Tom Via, Chair of the Long Point Biosphere Region, will discuss the importance of the grant for the Biosphere, work being done, and new opportunities for collaborations.
